book a session
information about the sessions
Sessions are one hour, and can either be in person at my working space in Braunton, or we can meet online. I recommend meeting once a week as it tends to help with consistency and building momentum, but I’m also open to meeting fortnightly, monthly, or as and when you want to (availability dependent). You can also cancel at any time, there’s no “you’ve signed up and must now do this minimum number of sessions”.
Each session will include a mix of talking and practising. What we talk about and what we practise will be up to you; I can provide options, but I think it’s important that what we explore together is directed by you, not me. For example, if there’s a behaviour you’re struggling with, we could focus more on exploring mindfulness-based habit change, or if there’s a particular emotion you’re finding overwhelming, such as anxiety or loneliness, we can focus on working with that.
If you like, we can also look at what techniques and exercises might be helpful for you to do during the week. This will always be an intention, not an expectation; I will never, ever, treat you like my secondary school music teacher, who used to sigh, roll her eyes, and tell me how disappointing it was if I hadn’t “done enough practise”. If you turn up to a session and say, “I haven’t done anything this week at all”, I’ll respond with something like, “would you like to talk about what got in the way?”
I’m currently offering the first session for free, so if you’re on the fence, why not come and give it a go? If you end up deciding that it’s not for you, that’s perfectly ok.
Happy practising!
Tom
